The West Wight Arts Association has a long tradition of promoting outstanding young classical musicians, who perform at its monthly recitals.

In order to encourage talented local music students, who aspire to such excellence but need financial support to further their studies, a sum has been set aside to provide Bursaries for young Islanders aged between 11 and 18 years.

If you would like to apply for the Bursary, please read the points below and download the application form.

  • Applicants must be resident on the Island.

  • Applicants must be 11 or over on the day of the audition (24th March) and not over 18 on that date.

  • Anyone who has been short-listed for a Bursary award in previous years is not eligible to apply this time.

  • The applications will be considered, and a short-list drawn up of those who will be invited to audition on 24th March. Everyone will be informed by 5th March as to whether or not they have been successful in getting through to the audition stage.

  • All final decisions will be made by the Trustees.

Closing dates for entries is Friday 22nd February 2019

Auditions will be held at Hill View House, Bedbury Lane, Freshwater PO40 9PD - 2.00 - 5.00pm Sunday 24th March 2019
