West Wight Arts Association on the Isle of Wight

About the West Wight Arts Association

West Wight Arts Association offers a season of eight professional chamber music concerts from September to April. The Association was formed in 1947 under the aegis of the Arts Council and has for 75 years promoted performances regularly in Freshwater. It attracts outstanding chamber music ensembles, string quartets, singers and concert pianists, many of them young professionals who have taken part in the final auditions of the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) at the Wigmore Hall.

WWAA provides a Bursary every two years, open to music students between the ages of 11 and 21 and living on the Island. Awards are made to help with the purchase of musical instruments, the cost of lessons or travel. Auditions are held in the spring in Freshwater, the next ones will be in 2026. find out more information on the West Wight Arts Association Bursary here.
